Our staff and staffing level has also seen changes. Mrs. Graham, who taught first grade at Reardan for many years, retired. In light of our economy and enrollment, we have downsized from two first grade classes, two second grade classes, and a first-second grade combination classroom last year to one first grade class, a first-second grade combination class, and two second grade classes. Mrs. Landreth and Mrs. Williams will job share the food services’ family accounts’ clerk position. Mrs. Williams has been a full time instructional aide and Mrs. Landreth has been the full time family accounts’ clerk. Mrs. Bacon will begin the year on maternity and then job share a second grade teaching position with Mrs. Budd. Mrs. Budd will teach second grade part time and remain as our elementary school counselor. We also welcome Ms. Hartkorn, our new elementary-middle school librarian.
Our RECIP (Reardan-Edwall Continuous Improvement Plan) action plan will continue to guide us as we strive to improve our students’ achievements. We will also explore two initiatives this year that may impact how we structure student support… Schoolwide Title I Model and RTI (Response to Intervention). You will hear more about both initiatives as the year progresses. We will be seeking your opinions with at least one survey and always welcome your insights or questions. I look forward to working with you, your child, our staff, and patrons throughout the year. It is my hope that your child’s experiences here will be productive, engaging, and enjoyable. It is our entire staff’s responsibility to provide your child with the best educational experiences possible. We can not accomplish these tasks alone. A child’s success in school is highly dependent upon the positive relationship that is nurtured between the parent and teacher. We need your support. Clear consistent communication between the home and school is essential to ensure your child’s success. We hope you will be involved in your child’s education. We encourage you to volunteer in our school. Please take time each day to talk with your child about school and lessons learned. Reading to or with your child each day demonstrates to your child the importance of reading and has a significant impact upon reading development and all other learning. Each child’s emotional and physical safety is also a priority of our staff. We strive to help our students develop the character attributes of respect, caring, trustworthiness, fairness, responsibility, and citizenship. These six pillars of the CHARACTER COUNTS! program are taught and practiced in our school. We want Should you have any questions or concerns related to Sincerely, |
