Powerful Teaching and Learning (PTL) is a professional development program utilizing a coach and a professional learning community model to improve instruction. Teachers seek new knowledge and understanding, develop personal action plans, and receive support as they apply new skills. Teams of teachers observe classrooms in neighboring districts and we host teams of teachers into our classrooms. We look for ways to enhance student learning by improving our own teaching through discussions centered on what students are doing. Throughout this process we discuss research based best practices as we converse about teaching and learning.
