Courtney  Dear Students and Family Members,

As we begin the 2013-2014 school year, I would like to welcome you to Reardan Middle School and Reardan High School.  I am looking forward to working with you all this year and helping you achieve your goals. I want to help each of you to master the Washington State Learning Standards as well as have opportunities to become a good citizen that contributes to the community.

As an Associated Student Body, I would like to encourage you to get involved!  I want every single one of you to feel as though you belong here and look forward to coming to school each day.  Our ASB Officers have been working hard on many different activities that will be incorporated this year to create a positive, involved school climate.  As a school we will complete community service activities, learn about good citizenship, and will work toward bully-free environment.  You can get involved in a sports team or club, help out as a teacher’s assistant, or take part in Homecoming and Winterfest Activities.  There is something for everyone, please see the main office screen for opportunities.

This year our focus as a school community is to work together to make the learning environment at RMS and RHS the best that it can be.  We will be incorporating many new best practices and increasing rigor in every classroom.  We want you to feel challenged in the classroom and prepared for the next stage of your life in college or the career field.  Our school motto is “Free to Choose, All Doors Open.” During the late starts each Monday morning, we will be diligently working in Professional Learning Communities analyzing data and making decisions on changes we can make to instruction to help all students, working on the new Teacher Principal Evaluation Project (TPEP), and aligning our curriculum to match the Common Core State Standards.  Our goal is to help every student learn something new every day.

I would like to invite all family members and community members to participate in creating a positive school environment for our students.  If you would like to volunteer or share your expertise, please feel free to contact me to set up an appointment.  Please feel free to stop in anytime to see the learning that is taking place in the building.  Also, I look forward to seeing you at one of the many sporting events or extracurricular activities that our students excel in.  The students at RMS and RHS are one of a kind!

Sincerely,

Courtney S. Strozyk
