The Reardan-Edwall Food Services Department is committed to providing nutritious, balanced meals
that support student learning and well-being.
We encourage all students to start their day with a healthy breakfast and take advantage of our school
lunch program. Breakfast and lunch the USDA daily requirements.
● Breakfast: 7:30–8:00 AM (Commons)
Note: Breakfast is not served on 2-hour delay days.
● Lunch: 10:30 AM–12:50 PM (Commons)
Parents and guardians are always welcome to join their students for a meal.

Our Commitment to Student Wellness
It’s a fact - healthier students are better learners. That’s why Reardan-Edwall School District is
working to create a healthier environment for our students. Our Wellness Policy Team encourages you
to support our school Wellness Policy implementation. The Wellness Policy addresses school meal
programs, nutrition education, physical activity, and foods available during the school day. We are
looking into a variety of ways to offer healthy food choices throughout our school--in the school meal
programs, classroom celebrations, and at school sponsored events. We are also supporting nutrition
education in the classrooms, and physical activities.

Meal Program Overview
Reardan-Edwall participates in the National School Breakfast and Lunch Program, serving
students in grades K–12.
Each meal includes:
● A balanced entrée
● Access to a fresh fruit and vegetable bar
● Choice of milk: 1% white, non-fat white, or non-fat chocolate. *Please note chocolate
milk is served two times a week.*
Monthly menus are available on the district website and in school offices.
Free & Reduced-Price Applications
Free/Reduced Meal Applications are distributed to all students at the beginning of the school year.
Completed applications can be submitted at any time throughout the school year. Please submit
completed applications to any school office.
Families may qualify for free or reduced-price meals.

● Some families may qualify automatically through programs such as Basic Food, TANF,
or FDPIR
● Applications are available at each building office, on our website under the Food
Services section, at the link below, or through Skyward Family Access.

Meal Payments
Meal accounts are family accounts shared among all students within the same household
attending Reardan-Edwall School District.
Payments must be submitted at either the elementary or high school office. Payments will not be
accepted in the breakfast or lunch serving line.
Payments may be made using one of the following methods:
Payment Options:
● Check (payable to Reardan-Edwall; please include the student’s name in the memo line)
● Cash (must be placed in a sealed envelope labeled with the student’s name; envelopes
are available in each building office)
● Online through Skyward Family Access using a debit or credit card
Note: First-time users of the online payment system will be prompted to create an E-Funds for
Schools account. Please allow up to two business days for payments to be posted to the
student’s account. A convenience fee will be applied at checkout.
Checking Balances Online
Reardan-Edwall School District encourages all families to sign into Skyward Family Access. Under the
Food Service tab in Skyward Family Access you can view your food service meal balances and
transaction history online.
Please contact your school office if you need Family Access login information.
Meal Charging Policy
Reardan-Edwall ensures all students have access to meals, regardless of account balance. We
will not withhold meals from any students. However, if parents don’t want to charge meals when
their account is low/negative we encourage you to communicate with your child and the Food
Service department.
Balance Notifications
Balance statements for low or negative accounts are emailed or mailed directly to parents
weekly on Wednesday morning when accounts reach $2.00 or less. When a student’s account
reaches -$50.00 the Food Service Secretary will make direct contact to discuss options and/or
resources available at Reardan-Edwall School District.

In accordance with federal civil rights law and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) civil rights

To file a program discrimination complaint, a Complainant should complete Form AD-3027,
USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form, from any USDA office, by calling 866-632-9992
or by writing a letter addressed to USDA. The letter must contain the complainant’s name,
address, telephone number, and a written description of the alleged discriminatory action in
sufficient detail to inform the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights (ASCR) about the nature and
date of an alleged civil rights violation. The completed AD-3027 form or letter must be submitted
to USDA by:
